There are dozens of ways to make money on-line. What you have to remember is that, what’s good for one person may not, necessarily, be great for another. That’s what I like about this business: variety. There is something here for everyone.

Here’s a list of the most common ways to make money on-line:

Sell physical products. Usually these will be sold on auction sites such as Ebay – or you might even set up your own e-commerce site, or joint venture with someone. And no, you don’t have to fill your garage with inventory – there are many reputable companies that will drop-ship your orders right from their warehouse to your customer’s front door.

Start a blog. Of course, it seems like everyone and his brother has a blog these days, but few really know how to monetize it properly. Actually, some don’t care about the money at all; they just like writing. For those that are serious about making money online, a blog is a perfect way to start.

Start a website. Similar to starting a blog, but the information is more structured and is perceived to be more authoritative than a blog. If you do become an authority site (and start getting serious traffic), there are countless ways to make money.

Become an affiliate. Once you have some traffic coming to your website, you can integrate other people’s products with your articles. You get paid a percentage of each sale. Some people make a fantastic living doing this. Just remember that the product must compliment the article subject.

Provide a membership site. If you have specialized knowledge and information that you can share with your members, you can make a decent income through monthly membership fees. Of course, the key here is that you have to provide value so that people will continue to pay the monthly fee.

Sell services such as writing, design, or programming. Of course, not everyone is going to be be able to do this. However, if you have any of these skills, there is a hungry market out there.

Write an ebook. Many people are making an above average income doing this. These days, you don’t have to worry about getting “published,” simply put up a website and get some traffic to it. You can self-publish anything – whether or not you get people to buy it is another story.

I plan on talking about each of these (and a lot more) in some detail in upcoming posts. I’m also going to provide some free information that you can download once I organize it a little better. Keep in mind that there is a lot to learn in this business. It’s not a get-rich-quick thing. It requires a serious commitment and a lot of time and hard work.

What’s the payoff?

Eventually, all that hard work is going to start creating a residual effect and you’ll find that you won’t have to work as hard in order to get the same amount of money coming in. Also, internet marketing allows you to work from anywhere in the world, provided you have an internet connection. In my case, it gives me the freedom to live life according to my own schedule. To me, that’s priceless.
