Internet Marketing – A Huge Opportunity For The Right Person
When it comes to Internet marketing, the playing field is pretty level. From the one-man operation working out of his/her basement, to the multinational corporation; everyone has the same opportunity to make money.
You may argue that the corporation has millions of dollars of capital behind it and a huge advertising budget; however, they also have an incredible amount of overhead. Everything is relative. The work-at-home entrepreneur may not make as much, but his/her expenses are almost negligible.
In fact, many one-man Internet marketing operations make much more than an average doctor or lawyer. It’s not uncommon for a seasoned and savvy Internet marketer to pull in a six-figure salary and more. I know of some marketers that are making $1000 a day after only two years of being in the business.
What I find incredible is the fact that 20 years ago there was no way to make money like this unless you started a brick and mortar business. Most start-ups required a decent amount of capital and were a lot more risky. These days, anyone armed with a computer, an Internet connection, and a decent command of the English language can start a potential million dollar business.
With that being said, most people who start Internet marketing will fail. It’s certainly not a get-rich-quick scheme by any stretch of the imagination. It’s also not as easy as one would think. In the beginning you will be putting in 12 hour days and seeing very little return. The people who succeed are generally tenacious by nature and also have the ability to see down the road.
If you’re getting into this business for a quick buck, it ain’t gonna happen. If it was that easy to make money, everyone would be doing it, we would all be rich, and eventually the business would become so diluted that there would be nothing left for anyone.
Though there is a huge potential, it’s probably one of the hardest businesses out there. I suppose the most difficult thing for a beginner to get their head around is the fact that there is no guarantee that you’ll make any money at all. You could put in hundreds of hours of work and only make a few sales for your effort. Unfortunately, you won’t know that something is a failure until after the fact – after you’ve put in those hours.
Most people are not willing to play by those rules. Most will expect to be compensated for their effort. And while Internet marketing can do that, it won’t be soon enough for most.
That’s the negative part. The positive part is that if you do become successful, you have an opportunity to create much more income than you would with a regular job. Not only that, but you also have an opportunity to make some residual income after you’ve put in the hard work.
In my case, I’m looking for the residual income effect. I’m not interested in becoming wealthy, I just want a steady income and as much leisure time as I can get.
What’s my number one reason for getting into Internet marketing? Well, that’s easy: it allows me to work from anywhere as long as I have an Internet connection. Even if the residual income doesn’t kick in for a while, I have still escaped the rat race by working from home.
